The Wine Company, based in Singapore, prints 40 to 50 new price labels a month.
The challenge: identify and locate bottles in a huge wine cellar
Running a restaurant requires a lot of energy, and the high turnover rate leaves little time for comprehensive staff training. The Wine Company's restaurants in Singapore face an additional challenge because their wine lists are so extensive. Very often, customers like to taste several wines in the same evening, and staff need to be able to quickly locate the wine ordered in the cellar.
The solution: plastic cards to identify wine bottles, printed using the Edikio Access solution.
Belinda Lim, the owner of the restaurant chain, noticed that locating the bottles ordered in the wine cellar was extremely time-consuming.
It decided to equip its main restaurant on the Sentosa Boardwalk with the Edikio Access plastic card printing solution for creating and printing price labels. The labels were placed in front of the bottles stored in the restaurant's wine cellar.
The result: staff can find bottles of wine in a matter of seconds
Thanks to this clear display of information, staff and customers can now go into the wine cellar and find the bottle they're looking for in just a few seconds. As well as making it easier to recognise each bottle, the labels give the impression of a more tidy wine cellar.
Displaying black text on a white background, the labels read:
- the name of the wine,
- the grape variety,
- the production region,
- the vintage,
- as well as the price for customers who wish to buy a bottle directly from the cellar.
Every month, 40 to 50 new price labels are printed.
