Plastic labels for hotel buffets in Norway

Scandic Hotels is the leading hotel operator in the Nordic countries, with a network of 230 hotels in seven countries and almost 9,000 employees.

When the new European legislation on consumer information came into force at the end of 2014, BUYSEC AS - the Norwegian distributor of Evolis products - offered the new Evolis all-in-one solution for food labelling to the Director of Catering at Scandic in Norway. Until then, each Scandic restaurant printed its buffet labels on paper, which is difficult to clean and not very resistant.

For Scandic in Norway, this solution not only allowed us to comply with European standards and Scandic's general philosophy, but also to save staff time anddisplay legible information for customers.

A total of 70 Evolis solutions have been purchased to equip each Scandic hotel in Norway, including a Zenius printer, cardPresso label design software, blank plastic cards and printing ribbons.

Several hundred labels are printed each week, displaying the names of dishes, ingredients and allergens. For the breakfast buffet, different models oflabels are prepared centrally with the help of the cardPresso and then sent to all 70 hotels to be printed locally using the Evolis printer.
