Harmonised labelling in a French butcher's shop

The owner of the Gicquel butcher's and delicatessen in Guer hadn't changed his fleet of price tags for years. Damaged and out of date, the price tags on wheels in his shop were beginning to look old, and the models available from his supplier were no longer available.

In addition the new INCO law on the display of allergens and the origin of the meat, which required the publication of an additional document to inform customers. It wasn't very practical.

When Christophe Gicquel discovered plastic card printers from French manufacturer Evolis in the catalogue of a specialist retailer, he completely changed his labelling method.

The new solution Edikio Access from Evolis immediately won her over:

Label maintenance is also made much easier with washable cards, whose text can no longer be erased.

"With the Edikio Access solution, the font is always the same and the pictograms illustrating the products and allergens are attractive and easy to understand.

The Edikio solution comes with innovative software that is unique on the market for importing an Excel file with product names and prices. "Once up and running, the software is intuitive and easy to use. It's very complete and offers a lot of creative possibilities," says Christophe Gicquel.

After renewing all the labels on his 150 basic products, Mr Gicquel now creates around 5 new labels a week, mainly for the catering dishes that change regularly. By displaying allergens using pictograms, he is able to respond immediately to any request, particularly concerning the milk content of products.
