Alternatives to PVC for your labels and personalised cards
The Edikio range of consumables offers two alternatives to PVC:
- PLA/BOIS cards
- paper cards
- recycled PETG cards
These alternative cards to thereduced environmental impact Edikio Price Tags offer a host of advantages and a wide range of personalisation options in monochrome black using Edikio Guest and Edikio Price Tag software. They are ideal for use in the hotel and restaurant trade, as well as in certain shops (wine cellars, delicatessens, etc.).
PLA/BOIS cards: the sustainable alternative to PVC
With their natural wood look, PLA/BOIS cards offer similar benefits to conventional PVC cards. They are :

Thanks to their aesthetic and professional black monochrome finish, they are a perfect match for :
- the presentation of buffets or top-of-the-range products and services from hotels and restaurants.

PLA/wood cards are made from bio-based materials, some of which are recycled:
- Polylactic acid (PLA) is a sustainable plastic substitute made from renewable bio-sourced resources such as corn and sugar cane, and is non-petroleum-based and non-toxic.
- Wood fibre is a by-product of the industrial processing of PEFC-certified wood from sustainably managed forests.
PLA/BOIS cards with standard CR80 dimensions (0.76mm thick) are compatible with : Edikio Guest and Price Tag, Access and Flex.
They can be printed with BLACK RMS monochrome ribbon and are also compatible with Edikio accessories.
Paper cards: an alternative for short-term use
Paper cards are ideal for short-term uses (from a few hours to a few days) or which require little handling.
They are :

They provide high-quality, low-cost black monochrome printing for the following applications:

Paper cards are made from 100% natural and renewable materials, with no added plastic. The paper is FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified: it comes from sustainably managed forests. The printed paper cards are biodegradable, compostable and easily recyclable (they can be sorted with the paper).
Standard CR80 paper cards (0.76mm thick) are compatible with :

They can be printed with BLACKFLEX black monochrome ribbon and are also compatible with Edikio accessories.
Recycled PETG cards
With their white monochrome printing on a black matt finish background, they have a similar look to PVC cards, but are just as high-quality and professional. They are easy to clean and strong enough to withstand frequent handling. What's more, they are designed for the food industry.
